Flora y Fauna

Costa Rica offers an extraordinary abundance of flora, including more than 9,000 species of "higher plants." It has many more species of ferns--about 800--than the whole of North America, including Mexico. Of heliconias (members of the banana family more familiarly known as "birds of paradise"), there are some 30 species. It is a nation of green upon green upon green. See more

Location

The project is located in this quiet west cost town of Baja Mar near Tarcoles river and Carrara national reserve only ¾ of a mile from a secluded beach.

It is only 20 minutes drive from popular beaches such as Playa Herradura, Playa Hermosa, and famous Jaco beach with its famed night life. At the same distance are the famous resorts of Punta Leona, La Fiesta (now owned by Hilton Hotels), and the amazing resort of Los Suenos with 18 hole championship golf course, Merriott hotel, restaurants and more….

Mangroove

This Mangrove forest is one of the most important in the mid Pacific Coast for the conservation of the Scarlet Macaw. While endangered species such as the Mangrove Cuckoo, Mangrove Hummingbirds, Egrets and many Herons spend most of the day in the forest, they roost in the mangroves.

The experience is a must for nature lovers, birdwatchers and those wanting to learn about the amazing forest.
